Eric Mistretta (born 1985) is a visual artist from Queens, NY. He received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Mistretta’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the US and abroad. He was selected as the Artist in Residence by the Florence University of Art in Florence, Italy, where he mounted a solo exhibition of work created during the residency. During this time he also designed and taught a mixed media course to a group of international students at the University. His work has been featured in multiple publications including a recent edition of New American Paintings, which highlights emerging painters in the US. Mistretta’s work combines bold, visually striking imagery and text, looking for interesting ways in which the two elements can co-exist.
