A Vatican scholar’s discovery of an ancient Sumerian weapon sets off a deadly chain of events that could trigger a new Great Flood. When Father Ignatia is found murdered—his body mutilated and his warning silenced—the world edges closer to spiritual and technological collapse.
Across the ocean, the survivors of Dead Souls Awakening—Avanella, Magdalene, Luke, and their crew—set sail from a shattered America back to Europe, only to find themselves in the year 2029 on the brink of a Digital Armageddon. Pursued by Vatican agents and haunted by the past, they transform a cathedral in Turin into a refuge for the lost, sparking a movement that challenges the very foundations of faith.
But as the Vatican hides dark secrets and a new form of worship rises—melding AI, ancient gods, and modern heresy—the crew must confront the terrifying truth: salvation may lie not in heaven, but in humanity’s final act of defiance.
A gripping fusion of prophecy, technology, and apocalyptic faith, Dead Souls Rising delivers a haunting vision of redemption at the end of the world.

Author Alexander Suslov has lived in Europe and the United States, including Las Vegas, where much of his latest book takes place. A graduate of Georgetown University, he currently lives in the south of France, where he is working on the second installment of DEAD SOULS AWAKENING. He also draws from his childhood experience in the then-Soviet Union. He notes: “Growing up on the ‘wrong’ side of the Iron Curtain, I personally witnessed life in an authoritarian state where basic human rights were suppressed in the name of state security.” Like dystopian classics 1984 and A Clockwork Orange, this is a warning about how quickly history can repeat itself anywhere in the world at any time.
