Catherine graduated from Hofstra University in 2016 where she studied creative writing. In 2019, Catherine started a career as a caseworker for Adult Protective Services. In this position, she assisted her community’s most vulnerable adults with connecting to services that meet their essential needs. By 2024, Catherine was promoted to senior caseworker in the Department of Social Service’s Central Housing Unit. There, Catherine works as a leader in Suffolk County’s shelter system.
Through her work, Catherine has found a passion for helping those who battle homelessness. Growing up on Long Island, it became clear to Catherine that the price of living in New York is unaffordable. Because of this, she combined her passion for writing with her desire to bring awareness to social issues. Thus, the RUN AWAY HOME series was created.
In her spare time, Catherine enjoys competing in pageants, and has held the titles of Miss Long Island Teen 2012, Miss Queens America 2015, and Mrs. New York American Women of Service 2021. Catherine also enjoys bowling, spending time with her husband and cat, and of course pairing desserts with her favorite beers.

This is the second book in the series and it continues us on the path of the lives of Peter, Danny, and Hayley. It has everything you want in a book. Each chapter has you wanting to find out more in this dramatic, exciting story, so you can’t put this book down. You will love it! I’m definitely happily awaiting book three.
Catherine Manett’s new novel Run Away Home: Shattered is a stunning follow-up to her debut novel. We catch up with Peter, Danny and Haley, who I fell in love with in Run Away Home: Tempered. There are also some new characters who are just as richly drawn as our old favorites, giving the book a multi-layered feel. I was torn between my desire to race through the book to see what would happen next, and I wanted to savor each word to make it last as long as possible. Our beloved characters face new challenges as they continue to grow and evolve. This was definitely my favorite book of 2024, and I’m already looking forward to the final companion, Run Away Home: Mosaic.
I think I read this in 2 days. The short chapters and switching character perspectives kept me wanting to flip the pages.
The characters are relatable and beautifully flawed. I enjoyed seeing them each progress in their own respective journeys.
I will definitely be on the look out for the next book from this dynamic new author.
